CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Process Engineer II .

Job Title: Process Engineer II
Location: Wilmington, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: BS in Engineering/Science (minimum)

Scope of Position:
The Process Engineer II will work on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment, improving production efficiency, product quality, and cost. You will support new product development and lead the optimization of existing processes, ensuring that all equipment and processes meet safety and operational standards.
Description
The Process Engineer II will be responsible for working within teams to optimize new process equipment and/or machines for improved manufacturing capability for new or existing products, reduced cost, or optimized output. Key responsibilities include:
Improving processes or equipment implemented by R&D and/or developing new equipment capability from concept to prototype to manufacturing demonstration.
Adapting existing manufacturing equipment to improve manufacturing capability, enable use for new or alternate products, and scale up for increased manufacturing capacity or lower costs.
Utilizing machine design principles to define and execute testing protocols or experiments to validate equipment capabilities.
Engaging with corporate scientists and engineering resources for modeling and equipment testing, and collaborating with Product and Quality Engineering for process and machine qualification.
Collaborating with Manufacturing groups to ensure requirements of safety, operations, and maintenance are met.
Working as part of a functional or matrix team to accomplish objectives.
Up to 20% travel may be required to domestic and international sites, including Charlotte, NC.
Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of physical phenomena (static and dynamic physics, heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, etc.) with a strong background in machine design
Ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines (Chemical, Electrical, Materials) to create prototype and industrial process equipment design solutions
Knowledge/experience in materials processing equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design and carry out experiments
Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Sound understanding of material properties and capabilities for use in machine design
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
Education
- BS in Engineering or a related field (minimum)
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in process engineering, machine design, or related roles
