CTG is currently assisting a premiere client with staffing a Network Engineer in Wilmington, NC.
Position: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Wilmington, NC
Duration: On-going contract / potential contract-to-hire
This individual will work closely with IT team, traveling within 30 mile radius of Wilmington to support end-users at health offices, medical centers, and hospital(s). The successful individual needs to have extensive and broad networking experience. Additionally, communication skills are paramount as they will be interfacing directly with client management and executives.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of the datacenter network, local area network (LAN) and/or wide area network (WAN)
Provides day-to-day technical leadership supervision and mentoring of the network team
Providing technical support to various customers and departments/users with regards to the LAN/WAN
Reviewing anomalies that are broad and potentially service impacting
Researching, evaluating and recommending hardware and software solutions
Planning and validation of implementation activities prior to the installation of network hardware
Implementing and supporting network security solutions, such as firewalls and IPS appliances, in accordance with best practices and company policies
Serves as the liaison with customers, vendors and other third party providers
Required skills / experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field is desired
10 years of networking experience
Experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies is required
Experience with VMWare is required (in virtualized environments)
Experience with firewalls is required
Experience with Intrusion Prevention/Detection solutions is preferred
Experience with Service Load Balancing is preferred
Must be self-motivated with strong sense of ownership
Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact with customers and vendors
Excellent documentation skills
