CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for an Electrical Technician III .

Type: Contract

Job Title: Electrical Technician III

Location: Wilmington, NC

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC

Pay Rate: $42-47 per hour

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology, BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, or BS in Electrical Engineering (equivalent work experience may be considered in rare circumstances)

The ideal candidate will possess strong soft skills as well as:

  • Hands-on experience in installation support for new or modified production equipment.

  • Troubleshooting expertise in Mechanical and Electrical Systems.

  • Supervisory skills for guiding internal maintenance and contract trades during installation and conversion processes.

Description:

  • Perform hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment.

  • Supervise and direct internal maintenance and outside contract trades throughout the equipment installation and conversion process, including demolition, construction, testing, and debugging.

  • Conduct troubleshooting and documentation of Electrical and Controls Systems for new or modified production equipment.

  • Modify existing documentation to create comprehensive drawing packages, installation checklists, machine part lists, illustrations, and specifications.

  • Assess existing equipment for compatibility with new installations.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Execute initial equipment set-up and debug processes before turnover to operations.

  • Provide second-level troubleshooting support and coordinate the replacement of defective components.

  • Procure and expedite materials for new or modified equipment.

  • Develop electrical installation checklists and schedules, overseeing their application.

  • Prepare work orders and lead maintenance personnel and outside trades in equipment fabrication and assembly.

  • Update installation documentation and drawings as needed.

  • Train internal maintenance and contract trades on new installation procedures.

  • Analyze and improve equipment installation practices to enhance efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology, BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, or BS in Electrical Engineering (equivalent work experience may be considered).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in a similar role.

Top Skills:

  1. Successful hands-on installation support experience.

  2. Proven troubleshooting and documentation skills for Electrical and Controls Systems.

  3. Supervisory experience in maintenance and contract trades during equipment installation.
