Location: Remote

Duration: Permanent Placement

Travel: There may be times you have to travel for meetings 10% of the time

Overview:

Currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team comprised of creative and energetic employees, who are dedicated to delivering the best experience every day to our business partners. As our Senior Data Engineer, you will drive the implementation of the reset data strategy, advance data architecture with the Data lake analytics platform (DLAP) and advance data quality and master data across the company. The role’s mandate is to work holistically across multiple business teams (Marketing, Finance, Operations) and IT domain areas to build and maintain a foundational data and analytics infrastructure essential to turning data and information into corporate assets, driving revenue growth and accelerating customer acquisition and retention.

Duties:

  • Liaising with business teams to gather data requirements, build use case scenarios and help define the demand, scope for data development.

  • Interface with analysts, strategists, architects, engineers, C-level executives and technologists to define solutions and collaborate closely with the data architecture and business intelligence practices to develop and implement them.

  • Deliver value by problem-solving, improving data-intensive processes, and building connections between systems.

  • Collaborate with multiple business teams such as Marketing, Finance and Operations building data demand, data pipelines, middleware systems and technology solution/SaaS vendors.

  • Information and data modeling to build the DLAP for near-term and long term needs.

  • Work with large volumes of customer/consumer behavior data to build workflows that improve and enrich raw data.

  • Be a steward of the company data to information to knowledge to wisdom process.

  • Break down and communicate highly complex data problems into simple, feasible hypotheses and solutions.

  • Extract patterns from large datasets and transforming data into an informational competitive advantage.

  • Hands-on exploration of data sets via MS-Azure Databricks notebooks, SQL, dashboards, statistical analysis, data models and data visualizations.

Skills:

  • Data Visualization experience that helps gain business understanding of the data concepts.

  • Advanced knowledge of database and data warehousing concepts, including data lakes, relational and dimensional database design concepts, and data modeling practices

  • Deep familiarity with Azure Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Python

  • Skilled in reverse engineering, data structure, data classification, data analytics, and creative experimental solutions to devise data and business intelligence solutions and workflows.

  • Business savvy and technology-smart data expert with the expert ability to translate complex data problems into digestible business solutions both verbally and visually.

  • Familiar with data engineering, warehousing, modeling, and analysis focused in the marketing and digital marketing space with a key focus on combining first and third-party data to optimize marketing spend.

  • Experience building and deploying solutions that leverages data to improve internal business processes and decision-making.

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a critical thinker from troubleshooting to resolution.

  • Leadership experience with a collaborative approach to driving business results.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $160,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
