CTG Health Solutions has a multi - year project need for a Technical Writer in the DC area. Must be able to commute into Washington DC to the client site on a daily basis. The need is for a candidate with 1-3 years or more experience and pays $20/hr.

A Writer must have experience in explaining highly technical data and information in simplistic grade school language for end users of complex IT systems and projects. Must be able to use a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and scheduling tools. Must have experience in being able to gather and convert data into a written narrative. Spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools. Must be able to edit technical documents involving IT software and hardware systems and networks.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Will create and coordinate creation of technical and non-technical written content and diagrams for contract deliverables and project documents.

  • Manage content creation across multiple documents continuously with competing deadlines.

  • Perform quality reviews and peer reviews across technical and non-technical documents and evaluate document quality based on accuracy, substance, and quality of written content

  • Understand client style guides and know which documents to apply which style guide to assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Documents to standardize the approach that the team uses to create agendas, meeting minutes, and incrementally create, validate, update, and review document content

Qualifications include:

  • Must be well-versed in various Software packages such as Powerpoint and SharePoint

  • Ability to plan and lead major technical and non-technical writing assignments

  • Excellent formal business writing skills

  • Experience working at the US Department of Veterans Affairs is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree required
