Duration: 6+ month contract

Job Title: Technical Writer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Technical Writer to support the documentation effort for the manufacture of consumables for chromatographic systems. The Technical Writer will work closely with R&D, Ops, and Quality departments.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

•Creates final, perfected Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) suitable for use in manufacturing from drafts or redlined documents prepared by R&D, Ops, and Quality

•Manage the change control process from initiating the change to getting final approvals

•Edit and format procedures and spreadsheets for grammar, clarity, consistency, and readability

•Proactively manage document reviews and approvals as per established approval process within project schedule

•Collaborate with scientists, manufacturing personnel, and other stakeholders to complete assigned tasks including editing and reviewing design verification, design validation and manufacturing process validation documents

•Perform other tasks as required to support the editorial or writing needs of the department including reviewing customer facing documentation such as Product Instructions for Use, Troubleshooting Guides etc.

Education and Experience Requirements:

•Bachelors’ Degree in a scientific or technical field

•Minimum two years’ experience writing or editing scientific documents preferably in the medical device industry

•Experience with reviewing and editing highly technical documents like production SOPs.

•Expert user of Microsoft Word and Excel software. Strong knowledge of templates and Word Styles

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

•Ability to edit highly-complex scientific content without changing the meaning

•Knowledge of design control, quality, and regulatory compliance in ISO 9001 regulated industries

•Experience with LCMS instrumentation and applications

•Experience with other scientific instrumentation, medical devices, or complex systems
