CTG Data Center Lab Technician in Sunnyvale, California

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Center Lab Technician job for our client in Sunnyvale, CA.

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Duration: 12 months

Work Schedule: On Site, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (flexible 8 hours/day, no traveling)

Pay: $18-$21.26/hr

Duties:

  • Manage ticketing queue in collaboration with team members

  • Provide lab infrastructure support across multiple labs

  • Perform basic configurations for switches, access points, and controllers

  • Coordinate lab resources and maintain inventory control

  • Deliver customer support and troubleshoot various software and hardware environments

  • Manage server farm and hypervisor environments (KVM, VMware)

  • Rack and install data center equipment

  • Maintain open communication with various team leaders

Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in server hardware and software

  • Familiar with routers, switches, access points, and controllers

  • Proficient with traffic generators and testing equipment

  • Understanding of terminal servers and PDU equipment

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented and dependable with a process-oriented mindset

  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a data center environment

  • Familiarity with ticketing tools and team collaboration

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Must Have:

  • Prior work experience and mechanical inclination to operate basic equipment

  • Ability to lift 40-70 lbs

  • Punctuality and dependability

  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn

  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills

Good to Have:

  • Hypervisor experience (KVM, VMware, Linux)

  • Knowledge of switches and server management

  • Experience with storage solutions

  • Networking experience and any technical support background

  • Preference for local candidates with easy onsite travel, some consideration for those slightly outside the area

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $18.00/hr - $21.26/hr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
