CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Controls Engineer III.
Type: Contract
Job Title: Controls Engineer III
Location: On site in Hemlock, MI
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Michigan
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering
A successful candidate will possess strong soft skills as well as:
Minimum Experience: 5+ years in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Experience with automated equipment design, installation, start-up, and debugging
Proficiency in PLC systems, particularly Allen Bradley ControlLogix, including Studio 5000, RSLinx, and FactoryTalk View
Ability to read and update electrical schematics
Understanding of machine guarding and safety standards
Strong written and oral communication skills
Collaborative mindset with diverse teams
Ability to multitask and work independently
Key Responsibilities:
Manage electrical trades executing equipment installation and debugging
Verify wiring according to prints and perform point-to-point checks
Setup and commission PLCs, drives, and field I/O
Conduct safety validation checks as per SAT documents
Coordinate installation plans with safety and plant receivers
Collaborate with engineers and vendors to resolve equipment discrepancies
Ensure adherence to safe work practices
Update drawings and equipment documentation
Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel (less than 25%)
Travel to plant sites as needed to support projects
Possible travel to suppliers or vendors for equipment check-out
Work Schedule:
- Typical 40 hours per week, with potential weekend/holiday work or longer hours to meet installation schedules
Additional Information:
