CTG 2nd Shift Workstation Technician in Rochester, Minnesota

CTG is seeking to fill a 2nd Shift Workstation Technician opening for our client in Rochester, MN.

Location: Rochester, MN

Duration: 12 months, potential for extension

Pay: $21 to $25/hr

Hours : 3 pm to 11:30 pm, M-F

Duties:

  • Collaborate with Workstation Support Services business units to ensure hardware and software orders are received, configured, scheduled, and installed.

  • Ensure equipment is labeled according to specifications.

  • Research, verify, and document device specifications according to purchase orders and established standards.

  • Work with service and business units to relocate equipment as requested by departments.

  • Provide on-site installation, customer service, and technical support for installations and repairs based on department or individual customer requests.

  • Serve as a technical and equipment liaison in the field, collaborating with other support services (e.g., Help Desk, Applications, Materials Management).

  • Assist with end-user training, explaining basic concepts and procedures related to hardware and software requirements, scheduling, and break/fix options.

  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for installations or repair requests.

  • Collaborate with other IT Infrastructure areas to manage parts inventory.

  • Evaluate and process equipment according to IT security policies and guidelines.

  • May require overtime and on-call participation.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in software requirements, scheduling, and inventory management.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Experience in help desk support and retail sales.

  • Ability to serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Familiarity with end-user training processes.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional customer service experience supporting PC, Macintosh, desktop computing hardware, and peripheral equipment.

  • Skills must include knowledge of operating systems, hardware configuration, and software installation.

Education:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate’s degree; OR two years of Technical School training in Computers, Technology, Electronics, or a related field.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
