CTG Project Support Specialist - Nuclear or Engineering Projects in Richland, Washington
CTG is seeking to fill a Project Support Specialist - Nuclear or Engineering Projects opening for our client in Richland, WA.
Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 12 months, potential for extension
Pay Range: $30 to $41/hr, Hourly and salaried options available
This will be 4 days of 10 hour shifts, M-TH
Description:
This position requires a high degree of technical and organizational ability, as well as a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision on moderate to complex tasks, such as organizing and maintaining the department SharePoint site, tracking project files, and ensuring that Teams and SharePoint remain up-to-date. The role involves providing advanced administrative support for Construction and Project Management (C&PM), including training users, managing project closeout procedures, and supporting project startup and closeout phases. The candidate will interact with various levels of management and employees, providing support across a range of administrative functions while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
Principal Accountabilities:
Work under limited supervision, performing activities with minimal direction/support and management involvement.
Assist Project Manager(s) in developing and maintaining SharePoint site(s) for accurate project records.
Communicate with site users (in person, email, phone) to identify needs and ensure access to SharePoint sites.
Upload, publish, and archive documents on SharePoint as appropriate.
Organize and maintain project documents, tracking actions and statuses.
Provide user training on SharePoint and other systems to project staff and others as needed.
Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups.
Support project closeout procedures, including document duplication, scanning, printing, transmitting, and archiving.
Assist with the onboarding process for new employees and contractors, including paperwork and training coordination.
Support the biennial refueling outage in designated capacity.
Perform additional administrative duties as required.
Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote), Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
Advanced organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to work independently, demonstrating discretion, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using office equipment (scanners, printers, etc.).
Ability to learn new software quickly and adapt to evolving systems.
Strong team player with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Experience:
At least 2 years of advanced administrative or technical experience, with a focus on project management support or document control.
Experience using Microsoft SharePoint for project management and document storage.
Prior administrative experience within a commercial nuclear power plant or similar technical environment (preferred).
Experience supporting large-scale projects and understanding project lifecycles.
Knowledge of company operations, procedures, and personnel, with the ability to make independent decisions regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling.
Education:
Required :
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in applied management, business, or project management, and two or more years of advanced administrative or technical experience
OR
Associate degree in management, technical, or science-related field with at least four years of relevant experience
OR
High School diploma/GED with at least six years of advanced administrative or technical experience
Desired :
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Applied Management, Business, or Project Management
Experience in the commercial nuclear power plant industry (preferred)
Required Abilities and Skills:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels of the organization.
Ability to foster teamwork and encourage collaboration.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to perform moderately complex tasks with minimal guidance.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong work ethic, initiative, and commitment to achieving team and organizational goals.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment while maintaining flexibility.
Desired Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of Nuclear Continuous Improvement Coordination and project knowledge.
Familiarity with Energy Northwest records management processes and company software.
At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft Word for advanced document editing.
Previous experience in an administrative role at a commercial nuclear site.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
