CTG Engineer Principal in Richland, Washington
CTG is seeking to fill an Engineer Principal opening for our client in Richland, WA.
Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 12 months
We will consider candidates that need to relocate for the position.
Duties:
Perform highly complex engineering analyses and designs in support of operations, systems, programs, audit inspections, and assessments requiring skills and experience gained through the application of engineering methods, analysis, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Work with minimal supervision and serve as an advisor providing advice and counsel on assignments concerned with specialized or unique engineering requirements.
Provide solutions that involve unconventional or innovative program-solving techniques.
Provide technical leadership and training on highly complex or extended projects.
Lead small groups to resolve complex issues; apply advanced problem-solving techniques and practices.
Provide technical direction and leadership routinely to other engineers and serve as a mentor.
Identify the need and initiate development of new policies, programs, plans, and procedures to meet strategic objectives.
Assure compliance with regulatory and industry guidance and provide interpretation of industry standards for application.
Identify potential problems in design, quality, or operation, and initiate corrective actions in accordance with plant Condition Report (CR) processes.
Skills:
Ability to apply advanced engineering principles, methodologies, and industry standards to solve complex problems.
Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills to guide engineers and technicians.
Experience with pipe stress analysis, pipe support and hanger support, and floor loading preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Strong problem-solving skills, including the use of unconventional or innovative techniques to resolve complex engineering challenges.
Effective communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, including a diverse assignment in an engineering discipline.
Experience in nuclear design processes is a plus.
Experience with the Standard Design Process and Digital Design Process is desirable.
Prior experience with pipe stress analysis, pipe support and hanger support, and floor loading is preferred.
Experience providing technical guidance, leadership, and training on complex engineering projects.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university, or a high school diploma or GED with a PE license obtained by accredited examination, plus eight years of engineering experience and one diverse assignment.
PE license is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Must maintain current knowledge of industry developments and relevant applications.
Ability to represent Engineering in industry working groups and other discipline-related activities.
Act as the Responsible Engineer over engineering changes prepared by self and others within the Design Engineering Department.
Ability to work within a diverse team to complete various tasks supporting major capital projects.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75.00/hour to $86.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
