CTG Senior SIEM Engineer in Remote, United States
CTG is seeking to fill a Senior SIEM Engineer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.
Location: Remote - Preference given to candidates local to Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior SIEM Engineer to join our client’s team, focusing on enhancing their security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess expert-level experience in engineering and implementing SIEM technologies such as Splunk , QRadar , Securonix , or Sumo Logic . This role involves collaborating with technology teams to ensure robust security measures and compliance across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and configuration of the bank's SIEM platform , ensuring alignment with security and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with the SIEM team to develop and maintain correlation rules, reports, and dashboards that enhance the platform's effectiveness.
Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, contributing to the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
Stay updated on the latest security technologies, threats, and industry best practices, sharing insights with the team to bolster the organization's security posture.
Promote security awareness across IT teams and departments, providing guidance on secure coding practices and data protection.
Work closely with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to design, develop, and implement technical solutions that meet organizational needs.
Conduct infrastructure reviews and design support and architectural documentation, standards, and policies.
Regularly engage with business partners at various levels to clarify problems and elicit business requirements.
Continuously expand knowledge of Financial Services trends, practices, and technologies.
Adhere to and promote the use of industry best practices, standards, and procedures.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The Senior SIEM Engineer will have a hands-on role in security implementation and will interact with various teams to ensure effective solutions are developed and maintained. This role will require independent judgment and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and technicians.
Review documentation and proposals from junior staff.
Education and Experience Required:
Combined minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, or architecture.
Strong understanding of the system development lifecycle, infrastructure architecture, vendor best practices, and IT Service Management.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a technical engineering role focused on infrastructure design, data management, and complex application systems.
Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in translating complex business and functional requirements into high-quality implementations.
Verifiable knowledge of industry and vendor technologies.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50/hour to $80/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
