CTG PKI Engineer in Remote, United States

CTG is seeking to fill a PKI Engineer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

The PKI Engineer serves as an advanced technologist specializing in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technologies. This role involves collaboration with technology management and engineering teams to design, implement, and manage PKI solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to design and implement PKI solutions.

  • Conduct infrastructure reviews, implement and design PKI systems, and create architectural documentation and policies.

  • Interact independently with business partners to clarify problems and gather business requirements related to PKI.

  • Coordinate with vendors as necessary and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians in PKI best practices.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to PKI and cybersecurity.

  • Promote adherence to best practices and standards in line with industry protocols.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of bank applications and vendor technologies related to PKI.

  • Ensure compliance with the company's risk and regulatory standards, escalating issues as necessary.

  • Foster a diverse work environment that reflects the organization's values.

  • Ensure timely implementation of internal and external audit points and address issues raised by regulators.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The PKI Engineer will be responsible for advanced technical tasks related to the design and implementation of PKI solutions, mentoring team members, and ensuring compliance with risk standards. This role requires independent judgment and collaboration across teams.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

This position includes mentoring junior engineers and technicians, reviewing their proposals and documentation, and leading technical discussions regarding PKI implementations.

Education and Experience Required:

  • A combined minimum of 6 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, or architecture.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in a technical engineering position, focusing on PKI design, implementation, and management.

  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into structured PKI implementations.

  • Advanced skills in technical troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Excellent facilitation skills to gather and review requirements from stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of PKI technologies, encryption standards, and security best practices.

  • Adaptable and quick to learn in a fast-paced environment.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and applicable licenses or certifications. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
