CTG Ground Rule Developer in Remote, United States
CTG is seeking to fill a Ground Rule Developer opening for our client.
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months
Duties:
Develop, define, and validate ground rules for semiconductor processes, ensuring compatibility with design and manufacturing constraints.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process integration, design, and CAD teams) to create DRC (Design Rule Checking) and LVS (Layout vs. Schematic) rules to meet device performance, manufacturability, and yield targets.
Analyze and troubleshoot layout-related manufacturing issues, proposing optimized ground rules that balance design flexibility and process robustness.
Design, test, and validate ground rules to ensure compatibility with technology nodes, including sub-5nm nodes, FinFET, and GAAFET architectures.
Contribute to process development by working closely with process engineers to identify potential challenges and optimize ground rule requirements accordingly.
Support EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tool integration, customization, and validation for new process nodes, collaborating with CAD tool vendors to ensure tool compatibility.
Document, update, and maintain ground rule specifications to ensure accessibility and accuracy for the design team.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging process technologies, and best practices in ground rule development to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Skills:
Strong understanding of semiconductor process technology, including lithography, etching, deposition, and CMP.
Proficiency with DRC and LVS tools (e.g., Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys) and experience in DFM methodologies.
Familiarity with advanced node technology (e.g., FinFET, EUV lithography, GAAFET).
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in ground rule development, process integration, or related roles in the semiconductor industry.
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, or Tcl) for automation and tool customization is a plus.
Knowledge of machine learning and AI techniques applied to yield enhancement and ground rule optimization is a plus.
Familiarity with data analysis tools for defect density analysis and yield optimization is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70.00/hour to $80.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
