CTG is hiring a Storage Training Content Developer for our global IT client in RTP, NC! The scope of work for this position covers design and development of technical training content on our client's Systems Storage products using instructional design methodologies. In this role, you would attend conference calls set up by the Content (Project) Manager to report on status for each content development project (which would be related to client's storage products) and develop/draft outlines of basic learning tasks flows. They develop draft technical content including step-by-step product configurations and build out the learning content to step students through use of the particular product or feature (depending on the specific development project objectives). They initiate calls and email exchanges with other Technical Training team members or technical subject-matter experts across the broader development community to obtain their help and guidance on course content, delivery environment challenges, and other technical issues. They initiate review processes with all development project stakeholders by sending emails, updating statuses and documentation on the client's internal web portals. Review the client's internal technical web sites to stay up- to-date on the client's Systems group's current storage software and hardware portfolio. The person in this role needs to have a deep technical knowledge of the client's Systems storage products for which they develop training content. This requires strong communications skills with all technical product experts in other functional areas, such as Product Development. Content development requires strong knowledge of a suite of applications including PowerPoint, Word, Captivate and Moodle.

Required Tasks:

  • Attend conference calls set up by the Content project manager(which would be related to the client's cloud computing, networking, or storage products)

  • Develop/draft PowerPoint chart decks outlining basic tasks flows required to use [product or feature x - depending on current development project]

  • Develop draft technical content including step-by- step product configurations

  • Build out PowerPoint chart decks to step students through use of [product or feature x - depending on current development project]

  • Initiate review process with all development project stakeholders by sending emails, updating statuses and documentation on the client's internal web portals

  • Review the client's internal technical web sites to stay up-to-date on the client's storage technology solutions.

  • Develop, maintain, and update lab environment designs to ensure on-schedule training course completion and availability to students

  • Create lab exercises to allow students to apply the knowledge gained through lecture material in a controlled hands on environment.

  • Initiate calls and email exchanges with other Technical Training team members or technical subject- matter experts across the broader development community to obtain their help and guidance on course content, delivery environment challenges, and other technical issues

  • Review the client's internal technical web sites to stay up-to-date on the client's Systems group's current software and hardware portfolio

Desired product knowledge in one or more of the following areas;

  • IBM SD8000

  • IBM Flash Systems

  • IBM Storwize V7000

  • IBM Spectrum Virtualize

  • IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC)

Notes:

  • Adobe FrameMaker is a document processor designed for writing and editing large or complex documents, including structured documents.

  • Adobe Captivate is an authoring tool that is used for creating elearning content such as software demonstrations, software simulations, branched scenarios, and randomized quizzes in Small Web Formats.

  • Moodle (acronym for modular object-oriented dynamic learning environment) is a open-source learning management system (LMS). Moodle is used for creation of digital learning projects.
