Title: Archive Assistant

CTG's premier global client located in Durham, NC (27709) has an immediate need for an Archive Assistant to help the Archivist with the preparation of data that supports divested products and/or prepare data for transfer to new location or off site long term permanent storage.
Successful candidate must be familiar with databases, have prior knowledge of metadata and indexing and have some experience with digital conversion of archive collections. Strong word processing skills using MS Word and be able to operate a copy machine and scanner. This individual must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Sorting selected data from boxes, organizing it, prepare an index as needed, and label it so it’s ready for transfer
Preparing indices/lists of the selected data, copy and insert with data so confirmation of completeness of the data package can be assessed
Updating data location into database as data is moved so movement of the data can be tracked.
Prepare data for scanning by removing staples, clips and sticky notes; preparing coversheet from database; scanning and copying data; and upload electronic copy of data into database
Filing new incoming data, confirming the index for completeness, and updating data location into the database.
Other duties as assigned by Archivist
Education and Qualification Requirements:
High School diploma is required - College degree or some college is preferred
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Able to work without constant supervision
Advanced word processing skills using Microsoft Word
Ability to operate a copy machine and scanner
Evidence of effective, collaborative work with professional colleagues
Familiarity with Databases
Prior knowledge of Metadata and Indexing
Experience with digital conversion of archive collections
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Duration: 4 months (Project)
