Job Number: 19201795 CTG has an opening for a System Administrator - Storage Specialist at our premier clients' location in Poughkeepsie, NY. The position is full-time, 1st shift. This assignment starts out as a 10-month contract with annual extensions pending manager approval.


  • Basic installation and networking configuration to get the device on the wire and accessible to configure storage device user account settings and use central and local authentication methodology's for device users and log-on;

  • Understanding & experience with FCP SAN zoning including NPIV configurations, including best practices;

  • Logical storage configurations: ie. Array creation, RAID, connectivity and LUN creation/deletion, LUN mapping and LUN masking;

  • Understand storage device fundamentals, including: Thin provisioning, Thick provisioning, Mirroring, Tiering, compression and deduplication;

  • Command line experience with the ability to script configurations using CLI and/or API access to the storage device;

  • Basic understanding of Ansible and automation tool sets;

  • Basic physical understanding of HA FCP wiring, in regards to proper plugging across SAN switches, IO cards and Channels;

  • Mid-level storage performance capabilities with the ability to identify root cause of performance issues in the SAN, host or at the storage device;

  • Storage performance and health monitoring capabilities including email alerts, call home, event creation and working with support as needed to resolve issues.
