Job Title: Scientist 2 – Lab Manager

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Duration: 12 months, W2 Contract

Overview

  • Seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to manage the labs for a state of the art In Vitro Diagnostic test development site

  • While working closely with R&D scientists, the lab manager will be required to manage all aspects of the laboratory infrastructure, project materials, and related documentation

  • Lab Manager will work with quality and regulatory functions to ensure the site is ISO13485 and 21CFR820 QSR compliant

  • Will ensure the labs are compliant with all site safety policies and procedures.

  • Required to perform laboratory and equipment maintenance, calibrations, and qualifications according to GLP standards

  • Must be able to collaborate effectively and communicate successfully with cross functional teams is essential

  • Must be a highly collaborative and supportive teammate working alongside a team of cutting edge research and development scientists

Required Skills / Experience (MUST have to be considered)

  • 3 years' current/relevant industry/academic experience

  • Previous experience managing a clinical, industry, or academic laboratory

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent organizational and record keeping skills

  • Capable of multi-tasking and good time management

  • Understanding of molecular biology and/or biotechnology

  • Experience with Document Control Systems preferred

Key Job Duties

  • Maintain general lab organization

  • Work with R&D teams to forecast project supplies

  • Order, receive, label, and stock materials and supplies

  • Maintain inventories of all reagents, consumables, and kits

  • Track all equipment and laboratory service requirements

  • Perform and/or schedule maintenance, calibrations, and qualifications

  • Execute laboratory and instrument validation protocols

  • Document all service in detailed reports and archive to storage repositories

  • Create, publish and implement Standard Operating Procedures

  • Perform temperature monitoring activities of all labs, refrigerators, and freezers

  • Ensure labs are compliant with company procedures and industry standards

  • Work with LIMS to electronically track and record equipment and materials

  • Periodically work as a bench scientist to assist with development studies

Required Education

  • Completed BS degree in related field
