Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Records and/or prepares journal entries (A/R, A/P, G/L) for accounting system; some prepared by Accountant and others by CFO.

  • Prepares monthly credit card bill for payment; verifies purchases, allocates expenses and processes for payment.

  • Prepares monthly income and expense and balance sheet statements from MAS90 and submits to CFO in a timely manner. Provides auditor with necessary records and information as needed for annual audit.

  • Proficient in use of computerized accounting (Sage) and patient management systems (Suncoast) and Microsoft Office.

  • Reconciliation of bank records while maintaining appropriate balances in accounts.

  • Monthly reconciliation of A/R Aging in Suncoast against A/R in MAS90 balance sheet

  • Check, download and record all automated reimbursement payments; maintain A/R in Suncoast- backup.

  • Records, processes vendor invoices and processes payments by check when due in A/P system.

  • Processes donations, cash, and/or checks for daily deposits.

  • Takes the outgoing mail daily.

  • Responsible for liability accounts for accrued GIP/Respite/Physicians payables.

  • Responsible for the liability account for Employee Flex expenditures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in accounting preferred

  • 2 years’ experience in maintaining a complete set of books for a corporation, or a non for profit

  • Detailed knowledge of day-to-day accounting for non-profit organizations

  • Expertise with computerized accounting system and Windows XP software & Microsoft Office- especially Excel and Word.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
