CTG's premier global client in Painted Post, NY, has a long-term assignment for a Quality Technician to perform a variety of duties in the Quality department with primary focus on administration of the corrective action system and coordinating quality checks on PPAP shipments. May perform the following technical activities: experimental procedures, collection of data from manufacturing process, data analysis and graphical analysis. May be involved with measurement labs and/or customer data to help engineers resolve customer complaints. Shift: 7am to 4pm (typically); some weekends as needed.

Major responsibilities of this position are:

  • CAPA Site Administrator

  • Assign CAPA owners, schedule 5 Whys for review and approval, schedule final CAPA reviews, and send track task closure reminders

  • Provide CAPA training for salaried and non-salaried (new employee, refresher, periodic review/help sessions, etc.)

  • Perform all duties of CAPA system administrator (reassign, re-route, correct due dates, make updates to CAPA based on final review meetings, attach files, all tasks that assist the CAPA owner) - Quality Traceability Tech

  • Build/maintain strong relationship with STL; train STL operators on the quarantine area and PPAP shipment requirements

  • Responsible for repack and relabels for PPAP and 2nd shipments (submit the LTR to STL and ensure timely completion)

  • Manage quarantine area at STL and coordinate with STL inventory control

  • Perform 3rd checks on all PPAP shipments, 2nd shipments, validations, and specific customer shipments to ensure 72 hour shipment readiness

  • Update control plans as needed using Visio (key characteristics, process flow charts, etc.)

  • Understands equipment used in key process(es) and interprets data from process(es) to solve problems

  • Works with teams focused on product innovation, cost reduction projects, etc.

  • May write process, product or quality documentation

  • May participate in DMAIC/DESGN project to improve a current manufacturing or quality process

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent experience; prefer Associates Degree in technical field or strong Math/Science background and experience

  • Considerable job content knowledge

  • Successful track record of performance in chosen field

  • Previous experience in a Quality role

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Yellow Belt or Green Belt

  • Experience implementing various PEx tools

  • Has had several leadership opportunities

This position pays on a W2 basis (no C2C or 1099's).
