CTG is assisting a client for a Systems z Engineer!
Pay Rate: based on experience
The System z Engineer will be responsible to drive certifications, evaluate the behavior and measure performance of the Oracle Data Base and FMW on Linux for system z.
Hands on responsibilities:
Proactively partner with Oracle to plan the operating system, virtualization, and storage requirements for certifications of virtualization and OS features.
With Oracle development, proactively build a plan that supports the adoption of Linux Distros and IBM JDK with Oracle Database and Fusion Middleware (FMW).
Proactive engage with Oracle development to resolve issues found with Linux and IBM JDK during the releases of new Fusion Middleware and WebLogic (WLS) versions.
Build cross organizational ties with System z and Java development organizations and staff in local geography.
Strong verbal, written communications, and teamwork skills.
Hands on experience with:
Use of Red Hat and SLES Linux.
Mandatory, skill level 5
Installing the Oracle DB on Oracle on Linux on System z.
Mandatory, skill level 4
Deploying and tuning JAVA and WLS for efficient execution on Linux.
Desirable skill level 4
Oracle product certification processes or has ability to rapidly learn them.
Mandatory skill level 4
Running Linux applications, including DB’s on Linux for System z.
Desirable skill level 3
Building applications with gcc and the Linux tool chain on System z

Writing white papers and leveraging social media to document the value of projects both internally, and by customers.
