CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Technical Writer II.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Technical Writer II

Location: Newton, NC

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field preferred.

A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Description: The Technical Writer II will be responsible for writing, rewriting, and editing technical documents including procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and other related publications. This role requires the ability to communicate technical specifications and instructions clearly to a wide range of audiences. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring subject knowledge through interviews with product developers and observing production methods.

  • Referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.

  • Overseeing the preparation of illustrative materials, including drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.

  • Conducting quality reviews of all materials to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Requirements:

  • Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a technical writer or similar role.

  • Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field preferred.

  • Qualifications:

  • Experience in a technical field, such as engineering or software development, is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
