Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Shift: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Scope of the Position
The purpose of this position is: For the preparation, termination and assembly of both Copper and Fiber cable assemblies.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
This position includes significant duties such as: Drawing/Specification review; raw material identification and traceability; cable cutting; cable preparation; fiber or copper cable termination which may include tool selection/settings, J-Std-001 soldering, epoxy termination, fiber polish including inspection of termination technique used; connector assembly or over-molding; assembly identification; measurements required per drawing and electrical/optical continuity.
Working Conditions: Light duty lifting, bench height sitting or standing, use of light duty hand tools, heat guns, soldering iron/pot, epoxy or mold curing ovens.
Required Experience and Skills:
High School Diploma
Any experience with fiber optics is a major plus. Experience with copper including building copper harnesses, quality inspections, copper terminations, etc. is also a plus.
