CTG's premier global client in Monroeville, PA 15146, has a 13 month assignment for a Lab Technician 4.

Major Contributing Activities:

The Lab Technician / Research Technician is responsible for assisting chemists in performing research, producing final products and intermediates as well as observing/recording data for chemical products and processes. The role will be primarily working in a laboratory environment, setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, conducting experiments and monitoring reaction processes.

Primary responsibilities:

Work under the guidance of experienced chemists.

Set up and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.

Conduct and monitor chemical experiments in laboratories.

Help scientists and engineers in researching, developing, and producing chemical products and processes.

Perform tests on products to ensure that they meet the desired specifications.

Clean and monitor equipment.

Observe and conduct chemical and physical experiments, tests, and analyses.

Prepare reports, charts, and graphs.

Analyze compounds produced through chemical processes.

Work with Chromatography Data Systems, Lab Information Management Systems and other tools such as electronic notebook.

Qualifications:

At a minimum Associate Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Applied Science (AAS) or related field.

Up to 3 years relevant experience in a Process Chemistry lab preferred but not required.

General knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and related lab techniques.

Willing to adhere to all safety standards.

Ability to comprehend knowledge of reaction and/or analytical systems as well as related software through continuous learning.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team oriented environment.

Hands-on experience or ability to learn a variety of synthetic chemistry laboratory and analytical instruments.

A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks

This position is compensated per hour on a W2 hourly basis (no C2C or 1099's).
