Title: TECHNICAL WRITER
Job Number: 18213023 CTG, Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer for a six-month contract in Minneapolis, MN. There is a possibility that this contract could be extended.
Documenting work instructions in/with production, for assembling, testing, reworking and repairing, of electro mechanic and electronic circuitry of sub-assemblies/final assemblies for use by low cost region third party suppliers.
Essential Job Functions and Account-abilities:
Determine documentation requirements for LCR third parties who’s use of English language is limited, and develop technical/assembly/test documentation (Using photographs, drawings, diagrams, that will increase users’ understanding)
Good communication skills being able to take complex assembly and/or technical information and document it for assembler, or person testing equipment with non-technical backgrounds
Imaginative – must be able to question why? and see ways that can improve processes
Teamwork must be able to work well with others and different personalities
Create and update electronic construction to print format completion in order to provide complete instructions in assembly and test
Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, and product to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, production and assembly sequence and detail.
The ability to work under strict deadlines with good detail and research skills
Other tasks and projects as assigned
Word processing skills, analytical abilities, reading comprehension and writing aptitude.
Competency in use of Microsoft Office software particularly Word and Excel.
Technical writing experience
Mechanical assembly, ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electronic testing experience is a plus
Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory: Technical writing experience.
