The CTG Melbourne Office is expandng and we have several immediate openings for C/C++/ JAVA Software Developers of ALL skill levels (entry-level to mid/senior level). The software developer will be working on a warehouse management system for a major US food and beverage manufacturer. The project involves adding new capabilities to an existing custom system working in a Windows development environment. Less than 10% annual travel would be expected. These are fulltime, Salaried opportunities.
We also have an integrated development experience including modern version control system, automated builds, integrated bug tracking, chat and feedback mechanisms. This is a challenging environment where full stack debugging means all the way from multiple front-ends high level language front-ends down to C code. We believe in constantly evaluating and improving our processes, tooling, documentation.
Here are the primary responsibilities:
The software developer will:
Develop and write documentation according to CTG’s development lifecycle
Work with Section Leads to design, code, and test application designs
Work toward becoming a Subject Matter Expert of the warehouse management system
Develop high quality software solutions for our clients within schedule and budget
Enjoy solving challenging problems
Assist with system support and troubleshooting as needed (Helpdesk)
Required qualifications, background and experience:
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related experience
Minimum two years C / C++, Java preferred as well.
Minimum two years backend developer
Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Office Applications
Experience with source control
Relational Database experience
Object Oriented design and development
Familiar with software development lifecycle including testing best practices
Strong verbal and written communications
Familiar with software design patterns
Preferred 3 years of experience
Source Control Workflow (GIT)
Database experience (PostgreSQL, Redis and DB2)
.Net development / C#
Web Application development with NodeJS, HTLM5, CSS3
Linux and Mac OS X
Supply Chain Execution (SCE) systems (warehousing, transportation, manufacturing)
Systems/application design and development, automation equipment interfaces (e.g.
warehouse management systems and associated automation equipment)
- RF hand-held devices (Motorola, Panasonic, Intermec, mobile devices, WindowsCE,
Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Digital Ocean)
Experience with TDD or BDD style automated testing
Exposure to a modern compiled language such as Go, Rust or Elixir
Engage with cutting edge technology and new software trends with the ability to quickly
evaluate and grasp the technology
