CTG is recruiting for 2 Junior Project Information Managers (PIMs) for a project in Lake Charles, LA for a project through the end of 2018.

Position Summary

A Project Information Manager (PIM) provides support to capital projects at client sites. PIMs should understand the major milestones involved with capital project planning, design and execution and have knowledge around how information supports those milestones. Project teams, whether internal or external to the client, are the main “clients”.

In addition to providing excellent customer service, a PIM should also understand why certain information requires “control”. From this understanding, a PIM can support processing controlled information in a manner that ensures quality, consistency and accessibility.

Essential Functions / Key Accountabilities


Vendor Data

  • Receive and register final turnover of vendor documentation

  • Work with other team members to verify CP and Location Numbers in various applications and MOFA changes

  • Verify properties in bulk loader spreadsheets from contractors or create DocLoader spreadsheet for in-house submittals

  • Process Vendor Document Change Requests (VDCR) in Documentum

  • Troubleshoot vendor document discrepancies

  • Assist others with locating vendor documentation

  • Load and release project-related vendor documentation into Document Management System

Redline Registration

  • Responsible for ensuring Drafting Request and project As-built processes are recorded and tracked throughout the as-built lifecycle including the receipt and registration of field redlines

  • Track, report and expedite (if necessary) as-built drafting tasks with Project Managers, Drafting Services, refinery departments, engineering contractors and Document Management Services

  • Responsible for associating information in the MOC system with information in Document Management System (e.g.: In-Service Date as entered in the MOC system with the Install Date)

  • Prepare and register as-built packages in DMS database for engineering contractors and contracted drafting resource and receipt and registration of completed as-built returns

  • Expedite unreturned project drawings once project has reached in-service status

  • Quality Check as-built returns against transmittal to assure that returned files match bulk loader list and corresponding files are checked out to the project in the DMS. Resolve any discrepancies

  • Check drawing updates to ensure that all relevant drawings have been updated per specification.

Logging Deviation Requests

  • Responsible registration of Site Technical Practices (STP), Standard Deviation Requests (SDR), and Engineering Technical Practices (ETP) in Document Management System

File Room Management

  • Responsible for knowledgeable and effective use of OCE and KIP plotters in the DMS Drawing Room and restocking of supplies. Place service calls when needed

  • Process requests for reproduction of drawings and documents. Standard turnaround target is 48 hours or as determined by Supervisor

  • Print P&ID drawings from Document Management System and file in accordance to written document control process

  • Plot, distribute and file all drawings from Master Plot List which includes all revised drawings that have been merged to the Document Management System

  • Pull voided drawings from flat files and update Master Drawing Indexes

  • Distribute inspection P&ID’s to Inspection Dept and I&E classified drawings to I&E shop

  • Send and retrieve archived mylars and closed project files to offsite retention center

  • Assist Indorama staff and contractors in locating and printing drawings

  • Keep flat file drawers updated, organized and evenly distributed

Required Education/Experience

  • 6 months experience with engineering information management

  • Knowledge & experience with information and document control systems and databases related to engineering information and preferably in oil & gas industry.

  • Knowledge & experience with major equipment and instrumentation – classification, naming standards, Maintenance Management Systems

  • Detail oriented for accuracy in database entries and document registration
