Job Title: Quality Lab Technician
Work Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri
Pay Rate: $18-20/hour based on experience
Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Encompasses the application of scientific and technological principles concerned with the integrity of manufactured products and processes from an engineering standpoint, esp. design specifications, testing procedures, and minimum quality standards. Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
• Perform ELISAs and maintain quality lab records according to procedure.
• Perform endotoxin testing.
• Daily preparation of reagents.
• May assist with environmental monitoring activities.
Education and Experience Requirements: Requires moderate understanding of the general aspects of the job and a familiarity with terminology and procedures. Follows previously defined procedures. Proposes and implements basic solutions to routine problems. Recommends actions to improve efficiency. Able to perform duties within prescribed time frames and maintain confidentiality.
• 4 year degree in biology or related Life Sciences field required.
• 3 years of applicable lab tech experience preferred
• Experience running ELISAs
• Ability follow written procedures
• Proficiency in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
• Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems and develop process improvements
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with endotoxin and aseptic technique is preferred
• Intermediate level technical understanding
