Job Title: Plastic Process Entry Level Engineer
Project Duration: Consulting Position, 10 months with possible extension or direct hire
Project Location: Kennebunk, ME
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with no expected overtime
PPE: Standard PPE will be required and supplied. Rx glasses are not reimbursable. You will be reimbursed for steel covered shoes.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Support the design and development of new product / processes or improvements to existing processes.
Solve problems and improve processes based on and structured problem solving methods such as Designed Experimentation.
Support the implementation of Process Control and Process Discipline systems into development line operations
Analyze process data using statistical tools (e.g. pareto, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, gauge R&R, etc.).
Measure and communicate performance against established objectives.
Review and interpret data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc.
Document processes and train operators and peers on defined processes
Conduct laboratory experiments—including the operation of process equipment and analysis of results.
Conduct full scale experiments by working with plant operators of manufacturing equipment.
Installation and startup of development or production equipment.
Prefer an Associate’s Degree in a technical area (plastics, process, chemical, materials, or mechanical engineering) BS Degree is a plus!
1-3 years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing/laboratory setting and a track record of successfully solving problems and achieving results
Entry level candidates are welcome to apply and internship exp will be considered applicable.
Demonstrated experience supporting the development of processes and the resolution of process or equipment problems.
Effective presentation skills.
Ability to make a decision making based on data.
Ability to set up equipment (plastic processing, metrology, mechanical testing equipment example: Instron).
Ability to support process development / improvement projects through laboratory skills, process equipment skills, and data analysis skills.
Experience completing projects as part of a team.
Must have developmental mindset and adaptable to change.
