Project Duration:Temporary- Permanent Hire
Project Location: Horseheads, NY
Job Title: Electrical Technician (Industrial)
Work Hours:Monday - Friday; 3PM-11:30 PM
Pay Rate:$16-18/hour plus shift differential
Performs repairs on electronic items (customer returns), inspects incoming electronics and performs final testing on completed machines prior to shipment.
Machine setup and final testing for equipment prior to shipping.
Electronics repairs (board level and computers) of items found to be defective from both in-house failures and customer returns.
Customer support, including telephone, email correspondence and possible occasional onsite visits
WIP / INSPE – Modify, configure and test computers, electrical components and subassemblies prior to entering into stock.
Repairs machines and circuit boards.
Performs advanced soldering at the component level.
Executes required ISO procedures.
Perform basic and advanced troubleshooting on electrical/electronic assemblies and machines utilizing standard test equipment (multi-meter, logic probe, oscilloscope, etc.)
Interpret schematic diagrams, point to point diagrams and ladder logic diagrams to understand circuit and machine operation.
In cooperation with engineering, ensures that necessary work instructions are written and properly maintained.
Assists in the training of electronic assemblers.
Installs software and firmware.
Evaluates new product designs in support of product engineering, and provides feedback to their continuous improvement efforts for current products.
Required Education and Experience:
Associate's degree (A.S.) in electrical or equivalent experience
5 to 10 years of relevant experience
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, BPCS, Lotus Notes and Windchill.
Ability to read, analyze technical procedures, blueprints or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Valid Passport required
Willing to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed by the client
