Title: Wireless Network Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire opportunity

Location: Greenville, SC

Misc: must be local, client will not pay travel expenses.

Looking for a Technical Network SME with experience in WAN and with a specific focus on wireless technologies to fill a position in the Americas Network Services Team.

The Network SME will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting wireless and LAN/WAN networks. In addition, the Network SME may be engaged with project-based design, configuration, and implementation of wireless and/or LAN/WAN networking solutions. The Network SME is responsible for creating solution designs, migration plans, test plans, diagrams, site surveys, or any other work as relevant to an assigned project as well as providing recommendations, and/or developing/validating Bills of Materials (BOMs). The Network SME will be required to support on-call rotation.

At a minimum, candidate should have excellent technical competencies in:

  • Design, configure and implement wireless networking solutions

  • Understand Network Design and troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot both wireless and/or data networks (LAN/WAN)

  • Conduct Wireless site surveys and document results

  • Develop comprehensive project-based System Designs, Network Diagrams, Migration Plans, and Test Plans

  • Understanding of wireless authentication methods including 802.1x, EAP, RADIUS, etc.

  • Understanding of Cisco ISE and Wired and Wireless NAC

  • Understanding of Cisco Controller based WiFi

  • Knowledge of complex routing

  • Expert skills in using Network tools such as Cisco Prime, Solarwinds, Nagios, and other tools

  • Traffic optimization

  • Load balancing – F5, other

  • Firewall – ASA, Checkpoint

  • Virtualization Other skills:

  • Experience with ITIL processes and ITSM tools – ServiceNow a plus

  • Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Experience working in a professional office environment supporting remote end users

  • Excellent PC skills to include Microsoft O365

  • Very strong written and oral communication skills

  • Must be a team player with heavy interactions with IT team, suppliers and users

  • Must be goal-oriented, persuasive, and work well both independently and as part of a team

  • Must be able to develop positive, collaborative, relationships with IT management, business customers and suppliers

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar

  • At least 5 years designing and supporting WAN, LAN (wired and wireless), and voice networks in a multi-geographic, multicultural environment

  • Cisco certifications, such as CCIE or CCDP, are a plus
