This position is for a prototyping machine shop building custom parts. The candidate should have CNC and manual mill, lathe experience, an Associate’s Degree in machining with 0-5 years of experience. Not looking for someone experienced – more entry level 0-5 years experience. ** General Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking a General Machinist for a contractor position in Grand Prairie, TX. This position consists of machining complex parts, fixtures, specialized components and prototype assemblies using CNC, NC and manual mills, lathe and press brake. The position requires the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. The candidate will work from engineering drawings, sketches and verbal instructions applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to fabricate engineering prototype hardware. The set up and performance of machining operations include:Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Lathes and Mills, Conventional Lathes and Mills, Sheet metal fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling), Engraver/Router, Grinders, cutters, Precision measuring instruments such as dial calipers, micrometers, scales, high gage and bore gauges



Associates degree in mechanical engineering technology or equivalent. CNC lathe, NC mill and manual lathe and mill experience. Ability to comprehend mechanical drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Basic computer knowledge. Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Ability to work first shift and over time as required.


Problem solving / trouble shooting skills. 2 years machining experience. Electronics assembly / solder experience. Secret security clearance
