Title: Packaging Supervisor

This position is under the supervision of the associate manager or Supervisor III and is responsible for the supervision of multiple production lines filling and packaging. This includes but is not limited to meeting specific marketing, production, and shipping cost requirements. Ensuring the completion of quality checks procedures to the highest quality product possible. Responsible to maintain safety, quality and 5S requirements in the Department.

Essential Functions:

  1. Ensure all company safety rules and procedures are followed; correct PPE and gowning for the area are worn and 5S standard work is followed.

  2. Must supervise one or more production lines – will assign Line Coordinators, Production Techs and Material handlers to appropriate lines.

  3. Ensure a clean, safe work environment is provided at all times.

  4. Monitor quality control procedures to insure all standards are met, insuring overall quality of product produced.

  5. Review Kronos daily to promote and ensure proper tracking of line efficiency, labor efficiency and production units.

  6. Promote line efficiency and material efficiency through good teamwork skills, effective communication and supervision of assigned employees.

  7. Ensure accurate completion of Solar Soft downtime tagging and general data entry.

  8. Conduct meetings with team to discuss any line performance, production attainment or general plant communication.

  9. Ensure inventory accuracy of materials incoming and outgoing.

  10. Complete daily production reports, analyze quality/ production problems, close out shop orders and reconcile inventory against shop order, receipts, bulk, returns, scrap, and output. In addition to providing answers for variances exceeding targets.

  11. Ensure employees are following policies and correct or document as required.

  12. Complete employee appraisal process by providing specific feedback on performance and opportunities.

  13. Responsible for making sure that all employees are properly trained.

  14. Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Associate Degree preferred; high school graduate/equivalent with 3 – 5 years manufacturing/packaging experience, or equivalent required. Our client demonstrated functional knowledge will also be considered. Must exhibit the skill to organize and prioritize work. Should possess excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with employees and management. Required to be able to multi-task. Microsoft Office experience a must. Will work in Kronos, Mapics, HighJump and other programs required in the department.

Working Conditions:

Computer work may be performed in an office setting. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to typical manufacturing areas where under certain conditions the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes and cGMP precautions, such as hairnets, are required. The work environment is not climate controlled. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. Must be able to work overtime with minimal advance notification based on the circumstances of production and business needs. Physical Requirements:

The position is in the factory and could involve standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
