CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Quality Technician.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Quality Technician

Location: Fairport, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Fairport, NY

Pay Rate: $27-28 per hour

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Two year (Associates) + 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment OR

High school diploma + 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment

A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as:

  • Flexibility to multitask and prioritize work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.

  • Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Description

In this role, you will report directly to a Quality Supervisor and focus on the quality disposition of Advanced Optics parts and materials. Responsibilities include product and material documentation review, liaison activities between the Plant and key stakeholders, and collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to enhance customer experience with our products.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Ensure product quality and compliance with requirements.

  • Dispose of production events related to part and material non-conformances.

  • Monitor metrics consistent with job responsibilities.

  • Support Plant Safety programs to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Achieve department targets for safety, quality, and cost.

  • Identify root causes and improve existing issues.

  • Drive simplification and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct administrative work for production events, ensuring timely completion of processes.

Travel Requirements:

  • None

Required Education/Experience:

  • Associate's degree + 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment OR

  • High school diploma + 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment

Required Skills:

  • Previous Quality Control experience in a manufacturing or technical function.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001.

  • Experience with procedure and work instruction interpretation.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Flexibility to work within a dynamic team and provide training to others.

  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization.
