Location: Rochester NY
Job Title: Optipro CNC Technician
Rate of Pay: Up to $25.00 Per Hour Based on Experience
Work Hours: Monday- Friday, C Shift (10 PM - 6:30AM, overtime as needed) Training to begin on A Shift (6:00am-2:30pm)
The primary responsibilities of the position includes set up, loading, and operation of high speed polishing, generating, and centering equipment for the purpose of fabricating optical glass components to meet tight specifications as identified on part drawings.
Be comfortable and competent in operating CNC and other industrial equipment
Interact effectively in a team environment
Possess exceptional fine motor skills
Ability to read drawings
Strong work ethic
Possess basic math skills
Have a high school diploma/GED
Technical curiosity and competence
Minimum of 3 years but prefer 5+ years
Good written and oral communication skills
Exceptional fine motor skills and attention to detail
Strong PC skills and ability to operate electronic equipment
Superior technical and diagnostic skills
Able to work in a team environment
Actively engage in continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
Dedicated to the job. Willing to work off hours to ensure product is completed on schedule
Work environment is temperature controlled. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required. May have to lift or moves materials up to 5 pounds frequently. Occasionally lifts or moves materials up to 15 pounds. Rarely lifts or moves materials in excess of 15 pounds.
It is preferred that candidates:
Have previous manufacturing and optical processing experience
Possess a two year technical degree or equivalent experience
Have good computer skills
PPE - Candidate must provide safety shoes at own expense (overshoes will be provided if candidate
does not have own safety shoes). Standard safety glasses will be provided.
