Job Title:Optical Technician
Hours: 2pm-10:30pm - training will occur from 6am-2:30pm
*PPE - Candidate must provide safety shoes at own expense (overshoes will be provided if candidate does not have own safety shoes). Standard safety glasses will be provided.
We seek highly motivated, skilled & innovative individuals with passion and a desire to learn. Job responsibilities and skills required vary from fabricating, coating and testing optical components to assembling and testing optical systems. Individuals must be team oriented and able to work collaboratively with others. Having glass handling or working with glass optical components highly valuable.
• Manufacturing tasks in compliance with work instructions
•Using Leybolt Coaters for coating of optical components
• Inspecting / Testing optics films
• Performing calculations, quality tests, inspection
• Hand/eye coordination / manual dexterity / attention to detail
• PC skills and ability to operate electronic equipment
• An AS degree or equivalent experience in optics or other technical field is preferred
• 2 years’ experience desired
• Temperature controlled environments
• Safety glasses and safety shoes required
• Able to lift up to 15 pounds
• Willingness to work overtime
Education: AAS Desired
Experience: 0-3 Y
