Position: IT Security Analyst

Location: Durham, NC

Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire opportunity

Mid-level Security Analyst needed to be an integral member of the IT Security Operations team. This team provides day to day support in the areas of threat and vulnerability management including web filtering, anti-malware, vulnerability scanning, and other endpoint security tools. S/he shall be responsible for working with other IT teams, end users, vendors, and service providers to ensure high availability and expected functionality in these areas. This resource will also be expected to perform risk assessment for new requests in these areas, and the management of associated change requests. Tickets worked on should meet defined SLAs, and work done/communication documented in the ticketing system. Candidate must have worked in security operations, is methodical, and has good collaboration and time management skills.


  • SANS GSEC or CompTIA Security Certification

  • Vulnerability Assessment Experience

  • General Security Experience (IPSec and SSL VPN support and troubleshooting, firewall support and troubleshooting, proxy support and troubleshooting, Endpoint security support and troubleshooting, vulnerability assessment experience, etc.)

  • Checkpoint Firewall Experience is a big plus

  • Windows Server 2008 Admin Experience

  • Windows Desktop Support Experience

  • Quick learner

  • Works well across teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
