CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for an Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Technician I.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Technician I

Location: Durham, NC

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Durham, NC

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: 12 hour night shift (6:45pm-7:00am)

Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Description

The Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Technician I performs in-process and final inspection of multiple products prior to shipment to the customer using various gauges, tools, and inspection techniques. The technician will accept or reject products according to inspection criteria, report issues to the supervisor, and record findings on inspection documents.

This position includes significant duties such as:

  • Ensuring that process and quality inspections are recorded in correct designated forms based on product manufactured. Information on these documents must be traceable and accurate, including process parameters, gauge calibration ID number, lot/batch number, item/SKU number, and date, while adhering to proper good documentation practices (GDP).

  • Procuring inspection samples from in-process or finished products as stated on the inspection documentation. This may require removal of cartons from skids/pallets, replacing samples with product obtained from operator stations, re-taping cartons, and returning them to skids/pallets.

  • Inspecting labels, lot numbers, count, and packaging configuration for compliance with specifications.

  • Rejecting defective products and notifying the manufacturing supervisor and quality technician.

  • Writing Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMR) and coordinating with operations to pull suspected product off skids/pallets, ensuring it is properly located in the rework or quarantine area.

  • Identifying each skid/pallet of questionable product and re-auditing for acceptability once rework is complete.

  • Maintaining a daily log of inspection results to serve as a reference for inspectors on other shifts (if applicable).

  • Answering operator questions and troubleshooting issues with supervisors and technicians.

  • Assisting with the inspection and testing of validation samples, raw materials, and/or incoming inspections as needed.

  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area while following GMP and ISO regulations and company policies and procedures.

  • Ensuring adherence to plant quality standards and performing other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to industrial machinery, moving parts, electrical, and other energy sources.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to lab coats, hair/beard covers, gloves, ear protection, eye protection, and head coverings.

  • Exposure to fumes and chemicals such as cleaners, inks, and solvents.

  • Exposure to high-frequency noise.

  • Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 65 pounds.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Experience: 1 year of experience within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of experience performing quality inspections or serving in a quality control role.

  • Must be capable of working in a team environment.

  • Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures, manufacturing work instructions, and forms.

  • Proficiency in performing simple math calculations (e.g., addition and subtraction).

  • Participation in regular on-the-job training regarding product, cGMP/Quality, equipment, processes, performance, and any changes impacting daily production.
