CTG is partnering with our client a multinational corporation based in Des Moines, Iowa, that provides business process outsourcing and customer data management to various industries worldwide. To hire the following resource:
Position: COBOL Programmer
Location: Des Moines, IA
Contract Length: 6 months. (Contract to hire)
Rate: up to 40/hr.
Analyzes user-programming requests to determine technical response.
Produces appropriate research and analysis necessary to complete assigned tasks in accordance with established departmental procedures.
Creates, maintains, designs, develops, and tests detailed programs, system specifications and test plans.
Maintains mission-critical programs.
Works with minimal direction or supervision.
Interacts cooperatively with all levels of company’s employees, clients and vendors, in a team-oriented environment.
Performs all responsibilities in compliance with Development or Statistical Services departmental practices and standards.
Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
Using various resources continually learns and applies new information in a changing technical environment.
Works on call when required or requested.
Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or four-year related degree or equivalent job experience.
Eight or more years of progressively complex computer programming/analysis experience.
Successful experience completing design and implementation of multi-program project.
Proven experience communicating technical information to non-technical people.
Proven experience analyzing technical situations using research and troubleshooting techniques.
Demonstrated full project life cycle work experience and skills.
Above average written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated problem resolution skills to complex and/or technical business problems.
Experience making decisions on variety of business tasks requiring discretion, judgement and initiative guided by general standards and/or procedures.
