CTG Mortgage Processor I in Cheektowaga, New York

CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processor I opening for our client in Cheektowaga, NY.

Location: Cheektowaga, NY (hybrid remote)

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

The Mortgage Processor I will ensure new loan applications are prepared for processing or underwriting while adhering to M&T's standard turn times. This role involves a variety of clerical and technical duties, ensuring seamless communication with all parties involved in the loan application process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communication with customers, brokers, loan officers, and co-workers to facilitate a positive application experience.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations to gather necessary documentation for loan processing, including Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, Title Searches, and appraisals.

  • Notify all parties immediately of any irregularities concerning standard mortgage guidelines.

  • Prepare and reconcile required reports.

  • Monitor incoming loan conditions via email, fax, or mail, and assess documentation for accuracy.

  • Review systems for compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.

  • Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls according to company standards and policies.

  • Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain internal control standards, ensuring timely implementation of audit points and addressing any issues raised by external regulators.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal and external customers, including co-workers, borrowers, loan officers, brokers, and correspondents.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Not Applicable.

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • One year of prior clerical, customer service, operations, or financial services industry experience.

  • Proficient PC skills with strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software programs.

  • Ability to make sound decisions based on available information.

  • Knowledge of product, investor, and compliance requirements.

  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced mortgage environment.

  • Ability to function independently within time constraints.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Associate's Degree preferred.
