CTG IT Project Manager - PMP - Hybrid in Cary, North Carolina
CTG’s client is in need of a Senior IT Project Manager to support transformation projects in 2024.
Location : Hybrid / remote, with occasional travel to the local office in Cary, NC, when required
Duration : 1 year+ (Could be multi-year contract)
Skills Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
10+ years Project Management experience in Information Technology
PMP certification
Prior experience preferred but not required
Preferred Skills:
Experience with CA PPM (Clarity) or other PPM tools
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with waterfall and agile project delivery methodologies
Experience with independent project management, delivering global, enterprise-scale projects
Experience with leading transformational Projects
Roles and Responsibilities:
Project management leadership of large, complex IT & Business projects to achieve strategic organizational goals and objectives.
Accountable for overall project management throughout the system development delivery cycle, from project inception to project closure.
Establish & manage relationships with business partners and leadership to manage expectations; and effectively leverage governance for a positive business partner/ leadership experience.
Proficiently manage deliverables, risks and interdependencies between multiple 3rd party vendors and internal teams independently.
Demonstrate excellent program/project management skills; financial/budget management, schedule management, partner/vendor management and project team management.
Demonstrate excellent organization, problem-solving and muti-tasking skills, with the ability to influence others and remove organizational silos.
Consistently adhere to the organizational program and project management standards and methodologies defined by the EPMO
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, reporting project progress and health up to Executive level.
Identify, monitor, and control the interdependencies between work streams within assigned projects, to ensure on time/on budget delivery.
Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and mitigation plans, which could impact project success.
Possess high level of ownership for assigned projects; and self-motivation to deliver assigned projects to agreed timelines and budget.
Track and share lessons learned with wider EPMO organization to inform future project activity.
Ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure; and motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment.
Assist in the establishment of standards for project and portfolio management including processes, methodologies, metrics, and tools to ensure the development and use of project management throughout IT
Support the Business Unit PMO/Project Sponsors in the creation of business cases, program/project charters and associated project plans, for multiple projects and programs.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group is required.
