Project Director – Bilingual (Spanish & English)
The Project Director – Bilingual (Spanish & English) will provide leadership and coordination across the organization to ensure that our business objectives for customer delivery and growth are understood and included in all aspects of the planning and execution processes.
Location: Cary, NC
Duration: Full-time employee position
Develop relationships with the customer and other delivery partners that allow organization to be viewed as a valuable partner and broaden our commercial engagement and opportunities through collaboration with clients and colleagues
Work across the full project and engagement lifecycle in conjunction with other business functions (including Engineering, QA, and Professional Services) to ensure that the product delivery and service commitments are compliant with the agreed-upon customer contracts and specifications
Document risks to meeting deliveries are understood, documented, mitigated, and that agreed assumptions with the customer documentation is referenceable
Facilitate workshop activity with the customer and the organizations’ functional teams to document achievable requirements and drive agreed solution design
Ensure that the operating plan commitments for the project are met by ensuring that cost and revenue objectives are observed, including providing accurate planning and reporting of billing and revenue, and including any such documentation required to ensure legal and or audit evidence.
Ensure that the contract is managed from the outset to conclusion, ensuring that the business is compliant with the contract and providing appropriate management reporting on non-compliance
Driving escalations and actions to closure
Ensure that the project Gantt chart is accurate, complete and maintained on a frequent basis and that the project is executed in alignment with that plan
Provide timely and accurate reporting on the Gantt chart with clear escalation and action assigned to items that are at risk or late, including management of critical path items and any internal or external dependencies
Define and manage project / engagement RAID (Risk, Assumption, Issue, and Dependency) registers, ensuring that non conformances are managed and communicated appropriately to internal and external stakeholders
Establish and report against a set of customer agreed performance indicators that are used to measure the performance of the delivery and used to drive future improvements
Maintain accurate records in customer and internal meetings of agreed approaches, decisions, assumptions, and actions
Qualifications & Competencies
10 years of experience of working in large corporate environments with system integration businesses delivering complex and challenging programs
PMP or equivalent certification
Demonstrated experience in successfully working with C-level executives
Outstanding communications and stakeholder management skills, capable of communicating effectively to both business and technical resources
Full project lifecycle and customer engagement experience (definition, development, QA, and transition into ‘business as usual operation)
Demonstrated experience in supporting successful projects in complex corporate environments
Experience working with off-shore teams
Extensive experience with IT industry standards and practices including UML/Rational, ITIL, Prince2, ISO
Experienced in managing large distributed teams through direct and dotted line management (matrix management)
Collaborative approach towards working and problem-solving with colleagues and clients
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to write and direct the writing of clear and concise functional documentation
Competency with Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and similar business tools
Fluent in Spanish and English language (written and spoken)
Previous experience with AGILE Scrum delivery methodology is advantageous as you will be acting as a customer advocate, agreeing prioritization for delivery, and participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, etc
Experience in the Utility, Smart Grid, or Energy Management
