Our client has an immediate opening for a System Administrator for a long term contract assignment in Carrollton, TX.

Position: System Administrator

Compensation: $23.96/ hr. (No PTO offered)

Location: Carrollton, TX

Miscellaneous: 40 hours per week, OT as needed, a background check & drug screen are required

This is an ENTRY LEVEL ROLE.

Essential job functions:

  • Will help with tasks such as backup management and ticket management

  • Will document, maintain, and troubleshoot server and storage equipment, and associated tasks that support core systems functions and services

  • Will administer Active Directory by creating and removing users, working with print queues and troubleshooting problems before escalating to senior administrators

  • Will also be responsible for constantly keeping inventory up-to-date and managing/monitoring of all datacenter devices.

Additional Requirements, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Knowledge and work experience of Windows 2008 and 2012 server is required

  • Working knowledge of Exchange 2016 is required

  • Working experience with AD, DNS, DHCP is required

  • Working knowledge with Hyper-V and VMware is required

  • Experience with SCCM or other deployment software

  • Will support on-site and remote users where needed

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Monitor server performance and recommend improvements

  • Security concepts (Patch Management, Anti-Virus, Spyware)

  • Deliver the highest level of professionalism, compassion, and customer service to all customers

  • Able to help non-technical people solve technical problems while maintaining a positive attitude

  • Ability and willingness to own and support server issues from beginning to end

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Support delivery, installation, and configuration of hardware and software

  • Backup system experience with Backup Exec and/or Veeam

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience

A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area
