Job Title: Protein Biology Scientist II

Location: Carlsbad, CA

Duration: 12 months, W2 Contract

Overview and Job Duties

The Scientist II for the Biochemical Analysis Technology team R&D team will plan and perform laboratory experiments and assays associated with the development of novel protein analysis solutions

  • Will work in a laboratory environment and may be required to lift up to 40 lbs.

  • May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.

  • Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.

  • Execute laboratory experiments and analyze experimental data

  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebook records

  • Present results and write technical reports

  • Recognize issues and concerns with data and generate/test hypotheses

  • Identify and resolve a variety of problems in experimental designs

Required Experience

  • Three years of current experience in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Cell Biology or other related discipline

  • Expertise in the methods and techniques of protein biochemistry/analysis and in particular in the areas of protein electrophoresis and western blotting

  • Proven proficiency in data analysis, troubleshooting, and writing technical reports

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize scientific results in a clear, concise, and accurate manner

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize, and adapt to changing project priorities

  • Previous experience working on a project team

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field AND three plus years of current experience in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Cell Biology or other related discipline
