Job Title: Lab Support / Data Entry
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Duration: 8 months, W2 Contract
Job Summary / General Duties
Receive, review, and enter data into computer system or tracking database according to established procedures
Ensure accuracy of all data recorded and perform database maintenance functions
Supports the Quality Control Department's vision, mission and goals. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Keep track of received data and source documents
Prepare and sort source documents; identify and interpret data to be entered
Contact preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data
Review and make necessary corrections to information entered
Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered
Process various forms
Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient records management system
Generate reports and respond to inquiries regarding entered data as requested
Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required
Perform general clerical duties such as typing, scanning, making copies, etc.
Perform other job related duties as assigned
Required Education / Minimum Work Experience
Completed High School diploma
Must also have a minimum of one year current work experience in an Administrative Assistant / Secretarial position
Required Qualifications / Skills (MUST have to be considered)
Previous experience operating various Microsoft-Office processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs. Must be clearly detailed in resume
Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing
Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format
Operate with minimal supervision and may exercise independent judgment in completing assignments
Detail oriented and excellent organization skills are a must
Physical Demands / Work Environment (MUST be able to perform)
Part to all of the work day will be spent in a BSL2 lab
Training will be given beforehand as to proper procedure in the room as the lab handles blood samples
The training is required to gain access to the room; there is otherwise no expectation for this position to handle any blood
