Duration: Contract position, 2+ months, possible extension based on performance
Job Title: Windows & Active Directory Engineer
Work Hours:Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Day to Day Responsibilities:The Windows & Active Directory Engineer is dedicated to engineering Windows server O/S, mid-tier infrastructure platforms, and deployment technologies and procedures. The individual will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure projects follow appropriate project lifecycle, follow formal testing procedures, and transition responsibilities to support teams with full training when appropriate. They will design solutions that ensure system stability and excellent performance. Resolving and reporting on performance issues and maintaining proper documentation are also a primary responsibility for this role.The Windows & Active Directory Engineer will be responsible for the service ownership of various infrastructure platform functions which include the Active Directory service infrastructure, in addition to planning for capacity upgrades. The engineer may also evaluate and implement third party software products to support the above listed tasks ensuring all Windows systems and application software provide the highest level of system integrity to ensure operational standards and controls.
Maintains and supports the Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure including the Domain Controllers and Active Directory service software layer.
Collaborates with and advises development team and other members of IS Operations on integration of applications to Active Directory environment.
Active Directory performance monitoring and capacity planning; problem analysis and recovery.
Manages Servers and Active Directory in the Microsoft Azure environment.
Education and Experience Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Technical experience in healthcare environment is preferred.
Experience managing Windows servers running in a VMWare 6.x environment
Experience running servers and Active Directory in Microsoft Azure.
Experience with Back-End Infrastructure technologies and principles (Virtual Machines, Storage, Disaster Recovery, and Security) preferred.
Extensive PowerShell scripting experience is a strong plus.
Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (7, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2016).
Knowledge of SCCM, Manage Engine or other enterprise management tools is a strong plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server or other database platforms is a plus.
Working knowledge of Desktop/Server Virtualization is a plus.
5+ years of MS Windows server and infrastructure support in an enterprise environment.
5+ years of supporting Microsoft Active Directory service layer (Domain Controllers, Forest/Schema management, DNS, DFS, File and Print Services).
5+ years of supporting Microsoft Active Directory
