CTG Software Engineer I in Buffalo, New York

CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer I opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

The Software Engineer I will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications to solve complex problems. This role involves evaluating client requirements, preparing application environments, and providing ongoing support for various software solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets client needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct systems analysis, design, and development of software applications.

  • Serve as an individual contributor on projects, assisting clients with daily technical issues.

  • Identify feasible solutions and provide recommendations based on client requirements.

  • Collaborate with less experienced team members and coordinate tasks on small to medium scope projects.

  • Participate in integrated testing and prepare detailed test plans.

  • Create technical and functional specifications for projects, reviewing documentation as necessary.

  • Analyze complex relationships among programs and interfacing applications.

  • Recommend new technologies, policies, and processes to improve organizational efficiency.

  • Provide consultation to clients and internal teams regarding application functionalities.

  • Maintain compliance with company standards, policies, and controls.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer I will work under the supervision of the Technology Team Lead and may receive guidance from more experienced team members. The position requires a high level of independence in systems analysis and development tasks, with the expectation to assist in training less experienced staff and managing project activities.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

This role does not include formal supervisory responsibilities but may involve directing tasks for junior staff on specific projects.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (minimum 2 years of software development experience).

  • ServiceNow Developer or Administrator certification is a must.

  • ServiceNow Implementation Certification is a must.

  • ServiceNow Development and Administration of Vulnerability Response (VR) and Configuration Compliance (CC) modules.

  • Providing architectural, design, configuration/development and operational support for VR and CC.

  • Prepare and conduct VR and CC and related dependencies updates.

  • Provide ServiceNow functional and process expertise in building world class programs.

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and tools.

  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to the company’s technology stack.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Experience with specific technologies or tools relevant to the organization.

  • ServiceNow SecOps implementation certificate is desired but not needed.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Understanding of application frameworks and integration processes.
