CTG Senior Technical Engineer in Buffalo, New York

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Technical Engineer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Technical Engineer to provide high-level technical solutions, designs, documentation, and guidance for our Workforce and Identity Access Management team. This role focuses on securing human and non-human identities across the enterprise and requires strong engineering and architecture skills, as well as effective communication across diverse audiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with technology management, customers, and support teams to design and execute technical solutions that meet organizational needs.

  • Lead infrastructure architecture and design initiatives, including research and development of new systems and creation of technology standards and policies.

  • Analyze user requirements and operational constraints, performing unit tests, system integration, and user acceptance testing.

  • Engage with business partners at various levels to clarify problems and gather requirements, estimating effort for complex projects.

  • Coordinate vendor interactions and manage resources as needed.

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technicians, reviewing documentation and proposals.

  • Stay updated on Financial Services trends, practices, and technologies.

  • Promote the use of industry best practices, standards, and procedures.

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of supporting applications, development environments, and vendor products.

  • Assist in developing expense and capital budgets while adhering to risk and regulatory standards.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical lead on projects of medium to high complexity, providing direction and expertise.

  • Influence and drive technical decisions that align with business goals and compliance standards.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Not Applicable.

Education and Experience Required:

  • A combined minimum of 12 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, and architecture.

  • Comprehensive understanding of system development and infrastructure lifecycle, vendor best practices, and IT Service Management.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

  • Minimum of 12 years of advanced experience in infrastructure design, data management, and system development for complex applications.

  • Proven ability to translate complex requirements into structured implementations.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in meeting with clients to gather and document system specifications.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with effective influencing abilities.
