CTG, Inc., a Buffalo based, international IT staffing and consulting company, is currently seeking an in-house Paralegal.
Job Summary: Provides support to the corporate legal practice. Works closely with field offices and corporate departments.
Assist in identifying and handling legal issues in the most efficient manner while eliminating or reducing the legal exposure of CTG
Manage company’s immigration/visa matters in conjunction with outside counsel
Understanding of I-9 and E-Verify requirements in conjunction with HR Counsel
Coordinate corporation procedures in foreign entities with General Counsel
Provide assistance with Legal Department budget, Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) review, garnishment review, corporate procedures, litigation procedures, responses, subpoenas, interrogatories, legal library, legal file archives, other work assignments assigned by Corporate Counsel
Evaluate alien applicants’ eligibility for work in the U.S
Conduct/verify Prevailing Wage/Notice procedures for business immigration
Compile, maintain and submit proper forms to USCIS and DOS to secure temporary work authorizations, and visas.
Prepare and manage Labor Certification procedures with outside immigration counsel
Track temporary work authorization expirations; coordinate renewals and amendments business resource managers
Maintain I-9 compliance and Immigration compliance informational materials
Provide training support and information to corporate recruiting and HR on immigration and I-9 compliance
Manage case work with outside counsel for immigration matters
Prepare Visa Stamp materials for alien employees leaving the country
Maintain resources to provide visa services to company employees traveling abroad
Maintain updates to public file information
Organize and prepare responses for discovery and subpoena as requested by Corporate Counsel or HR Counsel
Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill requirements
Assist Payroll and HR departments as needed for unemployment claims and employment verifications
Five years’ experience in a corporate law department
Paralegal Certificate, or other Legal Studies program
Expertise in business immigration procedures
Competence in communicating effectively with government regulatory agencies regarding immigration issues
Competence in researching, investigating and analyzing information
Working knowledge of business law, legal writing, litigation procedures, and basic accounting
Ability to evaluate a situation and provide appropriate assistance across a broad spectrum of legal matters
Must be Notary Public
