Overview :
CTG is seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer with expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, database administration (DBA), data architecture, and deployment of distributed systems to support our client's technology team. In this role, you will work on the analysis, design, and development of new or existing applications, solving both basic and complex problems or enhancements. As a principal application designer, you will play a key role in providing technological solutions to meet client requirements. This position may involve day-to-day support activities, special projects, and leading less experienced personnel in the development process.
Primary Responsibilities :
Lead and oversee basic to complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts.
Act as a key individual contributor on complex development projects, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with client needs.
Maintain in-depth functional understanding of the supported application(s) and continuously optimize system performance.
Mentor and direct less experienced resources, providing guidance and coordinating development tasks for small to large scope projects.
Prepare and manage the technical components of project plans, ensuring adherence to deadlines and milestones.
Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology teams to set the overall direction for system development, from technical analysis to user acceptance testing.
Prepare detailed test plans, execute tests, and handle debugging efforts to ensure software quality.
Evaluate complex interrelationships between programs and interfacing applications/platforms, providing analytical leadership on new technologies to meet strategic business objectives.
Develop and maintain clear technical and functional specifications, as well as update systems documentation.
Review and provide feedback on documentation prepared by less experienced staff.
Assess project scope, tasks, and estimated effort, ensuring accurate resource allocation and project timelines.
Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of supported applications.
Recommend new technologies, policies, and processes to benefit the organization and improve operational deficiencies.
Lead or participate in technical evaluations of vendor software.
Promote adherence to development standards and procedures.
Understand and support business processes, operations, and strategic goals, ensuring the technology solution aligns with business needs.
Assist with the development of expense and capital budgets.
Ensure compliance with the Company's risk and regulatory standards, identifying and escalating any issues to management.

Maintain internal control standards and ensure timely implementation of audit points and regulatory requirements.
Perform other related duties or projects as needed, including leading due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, or business study activities.
Scope of Responsibilities :
This position reports to the Technology Team Lead and requires independent work on high-level systems analysis and technical development tasks. The Senior Application Developer is also responsible for managing and guiding less experienced resources on assigned projects, ensuring successful delivery within defined schedules. Interaction with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors is integral to this role. The position may also serve as a technical representative on committees or ad-hoc projects.
Education and Experience Required :
Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, OR a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience.
Strong expertise in SQL Server , including SSIS , DBA skills , and data architecture principles .
Proven experience in the deployment of distributed systems .
Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms .
Proficiency in project management, word processing, and spreadsheet software (e.g., MS Project, Excel, Word).
Ability to work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver projects.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50/hour to $70/hour . Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
